Program & Project Leadership

“We have a critical initiative and need someone to lead it.”

STRATEGIC

Define the Path

Establish clear program or project objectives, scope, priorities, delivery approach, organizational structure, resource needs, and measures of success. Bring stakeholders together around a practical execution strategy and establish a clear path from initiation through delivery.

TACTICAL

Drive the Work

Provide hands-on program or project management to move the initiative forward. Develop and manage integrated plans, milestones, deliverables, dependencies, actions, risks, issues, decisions, budgets, and resources; facilitate project meetings and drive workstreams through completion.

Program Governance

“We have a lot happening, but it's not clear who's making decisions or who's accountable.”

STRATEGIC

Establish the Structure

Design a practical governance model that establishes decision rights, roles and accountability, escalation paths, stakeholder engagement, and executive oversight appropriate to the size, complexity, and risk of the initiative.

TACTICAL

Make Governance Work

Establish and facilitate governance forums and operating rhythms. Develop charters, RACI models, meeting structures, governance calendars, decision logs, action trackers, escalation processes, and status reporting—and ensure decisions and commitments are followed through to completion.

Portfolio & Cross-Functional Coordination

“We have multiple teams and workstreams, and we need everyone moving in the same direction.”

STRATEGIC

Create Alignment

Establish an approach for managing multiple projects, workstreams, sites, vendors, or functional teams as an integrated program. Define priorities, interdependencies, resource considerations, and mechanisms for maintaining alignment across the initiative.

TACTICAL

Keep Everyone Connected

Coordinate cross-functional teams and workstreams; maintain integrated plans and dependency tracking; facilitate working sessions; monitor milestones and commitments; identify gaps and conflicts; and drive alignment across Business, Quality, IT, vendors, and other stakeholders.

Risk, Issue & Dependency Management

“We need to know what's putting the program at risk—and what we're doing about it.”

STRATEGIC

Focus on What Matters

Establish a risk-based approach for identifying, assessing, prioritizing, escalating, and managing program risks, issues, dependencies, and critical decisions. Define thresholds and escalation paths so leadership attention is focused where it is most needed.

TACTICAL

Manage It to Resolution

Maintain RAID logs, decision trackers, and mitigation plans; facilitate risk and issue reviews; establish ownership and due dates; monitor dependencies; escalate critical items; and actively drive issues and actions toward timely resolution.

Performance Metrics & KPIs

“We need better visibility into whether this program is actually on track.”

STRATEGIC

Define What Success Looks Like

Identify meaningful measures that provide leadership with visibility into progress, performance, risk, resources, commitments, and overall program health. Establish a reporting approach focused on information that supports decisions and action—not reporting for reporting’s sake.

TACTICAL

Make Performance Visible

Develop and maintain KPIs, dashboards, scorecards, milestone tracking, status reports, and trend reporting. Gather and analyze program information, identify areas requiring attention, and translate detailed project information into concise, actionable management reporting.

Executive Communications & Stakeholder Management

“Leadership needs the right information to make decisions.”

STRATEGIC

Create the Communication Approach

Develop a stakeholder and communication strategy appropriate to the initiative, including executive governance, decision-making, escalation, and communication of complex risks, issues, progress, and recommendations.

TACTICAL

Tell the Story Clearly

Prepare executive presentations, program updates, dashboards, decision materials, and status reports; facilitate leadership meetings; communicate risks and recommendations; document decisions and follow-up actions; and tailor information to the needs of different stakeholder groups.

Program Recovery & Stabilization

“This program is struggling. We need help getting it back under control.”

STRATEGIC

Diagnose & Reset

Rapidly assess the initiative to understand what's preventing successful delivery. Evaluate scope, priorities, governance, resources, risks, dependencies, decision-making, and execution practices, then establish a practical recovery strategy and priorities for stabilization.

TACTICAL

Get It Back on Track

Build and drive the recovery plan; restructure workstreams and schedules where needed; clarify ownership and priorities; implement tighter governance, risk management, and reporting; resolve or escalate critical issues; track recovery actions; and provide hands-on leadership until the initiative is stabilized.
